I love travelling around warm and tropical locations, especially in Asia. Even so, when I am in these exotic places the soaring temperatures are often too much for me. Rather than leave them for other destinations, I discovered that I can find relief in summer hill stations.
In addition to stunning views of the country, hill stations have cooler temperatures and often completely natural. Here is a list of hill stationsfrom around the world that will help you create amazing memories.
St Moritz, Switzerland
In the Engandine Valley of Switzerland, is a delightful resort town that is just a few kilometers away from the Piz Bernina, the highest summit in the Eastern Alps. Although appreciated as one of the best ski resorts in the world, this hill station has more than 300 days of sunshine annually, and promises thrilling activities for the whole family.
The Great Smoky Mountains, USA
When I was looking for a fabulous hiking holiday, I start up The Great Smoky Mountains that are in North Carolina in the United States. You can go up to around 2025 m, going through the forest on your way up and being surrounded by a grey cloud created from the natural fog on the mountains. Rather than hiking all the way down, I chose a white water rafting adventure for part of the way.
I found about this place from a friend, and I am so glad that they gave me their reference. It is in the apple state of India, which is also called Himachal Pradesh, and it extends up to 2050 m above sea level. The air is rich with the scent of apples from the apple orchards all over the hill, the view also features an amazing and colorful array of colors and there are flocks of sheep to add even more character to your total experience.
If you are in search of the best of both worlds, then you should visit Crimea in Russia which is at 1545 above sea level. At the bottom of the hills you will find fantastic water parks within the sea. You will also enjoy going through the botanical gardens while taking in the fresh and crisp cool mountain air.
I was looking for a culinary experience that was rich in culture in a fabulous resort, and I found all this in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, Malaysia. There are fantastic plantations here where you can get fresh strawberries and honey and even visit vast spaces that are rich with butterflies. I finished off my day with a very delicious meal of tea and scones, just like they used to in the colonial days.

This is a mountain which stands at 2,099 metersthat is located in the Sichuan Province in China, and it is located just west of the Sichuan Basic. Visit this place is you are seeking somewhere spiritual as it is one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains that can be found in China. You will be taken aback by the stunning architecture of the Buddhist monasteries set against amazing cloud formations and a sunrise that starts of being an unforgettable dark purple.

The first thing that I noticed about this stunning destination in Tan Duong District was the pure, cool and fresh air. Furthermore, the scenery was breathtaking, with the hill going up to 900 m sea level and it has been changed into a stunning tourist resort. While there, you can choose to stay in hotels or villas, eat at numerous restaurants, enjoy swimming pools and dance halls where you can meet some great people.

This is an amazing grassland in the Nuwara Eliya district of Sri Lanka, and its stands at an altitude of 1,838 m. It has nice range of wildlife, and if you are keen you will see the Sambar Deer, elephant and leopard in the thick forest around the hill.
I enjoyed visiting this hill station that is also a summer resort in Punjab Pakistan that stands out at 2,291 meters. It has amazing forests that are rich with oak trees, and lots of pine, making for clean and crisp mountain air that will fill your lungs with each breath. While you are here, make the time to play a round of golf on the nine hole golf course, and spend a night in the Pearl Continental Hotel that is a fabulous five star escape.
Ba Na Hills, Vietnam
The Ba Na hill station can be found in the Truong Son Mountains that are close to the city Da Nang in the heart of Vietnam. I was looking for a hill station with a unique attribute, and this one has a non-stop single track cable car that currently holds a world record at an astounding 5801 meters long. There is also a lovely resort on the hill and if you need a little bit of spirituality, take some time to drop by the near Buddhist temple called Chua Linh Ung Ba Na.
